Introduction to series pg. 1

Women must throw out their old moth-ridden Archetypal Wardrobe.

The stage acts and scenery (garments, costumes, jewelry, language, prop accoutrements) so prevalent in the many styles of White washing, Black washing, Brown washing, Red Washing, Yellow washing, LGBTQ washing, etc., will not correct centuries of being emotionally, mentally, financially and physically screwed by men and the unscrupulous self-serving leadership roles of women; whose psyche has embraced a male-dominant world-view concealed beneath the mannerisms and dress associated with a presumed women's progressive trail-blazing efforts— that are not under-scored with the ego-centricities characteristic of many male leaders who use the labors of the many to support and enrich the profits of a few... sustained by a hierarchy of laws and traditions long past their time of attrition.

Let us begin this page by referring to the list of archetypes from the previous Prologue page 1 commentary, noting that the quantity of proposed archetypes appears to have a limit of 12 basic types. This "12"-ness is sometimes related to the 12 months of the year with accompanying gemstones said to have been related to a religious past, an account provided by: The American Gem Society. The "12-ness" can also be used to describe 12 Zodiac signs associated to archetypes to produce a type of blend between Archetypes and Zodiac-types, yet let us not forget the 12 disciples of Jesus said to be a(n) (pagan) association with the Zodiac as described in this one example: The 12 Apostles & the 12 signs of the zodiac ... though other interpretations are possible.

Very often we see the "12" (as well as other numbers) being "chunked" into smaller groups which is the characteristic pattern used by those with defined memorization skills, scientific investigations, primitive counting systems (such as the "One, Two, Many" limitation, (or the pairing mechanism found in some) animals that appear to count, and the babbling of infants (where "chunking" may be alternatively labeled as segments, portions, divisions, etc..., but that many researchers are not aware of the chunking of single sounds into "babbled utterances" which can be cross-culturally studied as recognizable patterns (revealing low-numbered values) that will later to be used for an underlying language schematic where babbled chunks become chunked words that eventually become larger chunks called sentences and then paragraphs... etc.). In short, the division of the 12 Zodiac signs into smaller groups, similar to taking a group of seven such as The seven liberal arts being taught in two groups called the Trivium and the Quadrivium. (An internet search of the words "Trivium" and "Quadrivium" shows an enormous difference concerning human orientations with respect to these two words).

  • Trivium- Grammar. Dialectic (logic) Rhetoric.
  • Quadrivium- Arithmetic. Geometry. Astronomy. Music.

With respect to the number "7" and its role as either an explicit Archetypal value itself or an influence of archetypes along various channels of social, psychological, emotional and cultural influences, we must take into consideration the past references which still hold sway in present day considerations of examples. For example:

  • In classical antiquity, the seven classical planets are the seven non-fixed astronomical objects in the sky visible to the naked eye: Mars, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, Mercury, the Sun, and the Moon.
  • The Seven Sisters (indicating the seven stars of the Pleiades and also referring to the Seven Sisters of Greek mythology: Sterope, Merope, Electra, Maia, Taygeta, Celaeno, and Alcyone... as well as other cultural references of this numerical value and "Seven Sisters" reference.
  • Seven stars of the Big Dipper whose alignment during the two Solstices and Equinoxes produces the ancient symbol called the Swastika.

Here is a list from the Wikipedia on the number "7":... though one has to differentiate amongst them which were influential in what culture during what time period and those which were known cross-culturally, therefore becoming enabled to influence multiple peoples such as the Indo-Europeans, Asians, Africans, etc...

  • Seven deadly sins
  • Seven Classical Planets ("7 Luminaries")
  • Seven Metals of antiquity
  • Seven Heavens
  • Seven days in the week
  • Seven colors in the rainbow
  • Seven Seas
  • Seven Continents
  • Seven against Thebes
  • Seven Kings of Rome
  • Seven hills of Istanbul
  • Seven hills of Rome
  • Seven Liberal Arts
  • Seven Sages of the Bamboo Grove in China
  • Seven Sages of Greece
  • Saptarishi – Seven Sages concept in Ancient India
  • Seven Wise Masters, a cycle of medieval stories
  • Seven Wonders of the ancient world
  • 7 was considered a God number in ancient Egypt. The Pharaoh usually ordered things in groups of multiples of 7. For a time, 7 was not even used in writings for the people of Egypt.
  • 7 pure notes in the diatonic scale

Again, just in case the point has become lost with the reader... seemingly large number references are frequently broken down into groups, such as by (ones), (twos), (threes), (one, two and three), (two, three and four)... etc. Also, let us at this point ask how much do numbers or a single "lucky number" (or colors, etc...), act as if it were a basic, archetypal image in the female psyche... or at least as a cue which manifests in affecting played-out dramas within individual contexts?

Let us take for example that in one view of the Zodiac there are three planes (physical plane of action, plane of will, plane of knowledge), along with a related assignment of characteristic energies belonging to each of the different zodiac signs:

  • Aries - the energy of creation, of beginning, courage, enthusiasm, action
  • Taurus – the energy supporting the material plane, of patience, accumulation, stability
  • Gemini - the energy of thinking, adaptability, communication, intelligence
  • Cancer – the energy of sensitivity, emotions, feeling, motherhood, family
  • Leo – the energy of will, exteriorization, love, dedication, enthusiasm
  • Virgo – the energy of analysis, organization, labor power, purity
  • Libra - the energy of balance, refinement, the need for communion
  • Scorpio – the energy of desire which pushes the human being into transformation
  • Sagittarius – the energy of understanding, truth, philosophy
  • Capricorn – the energy of practical capitalization, usability, perseverance
  • Aquarius – the energy of knowledge, detachment, freedom, and independence
  • Pisces – the energy of sacrifice, faith, compassion

Chart of the 12 Chakras

In another approach, we see an orientation in which the zodiac signs emanating from a philosophical platform distinguished as: "Astrology in its simplest sense is built upon three basic levels", and are viewed as "a mirror to the system of the 12 chakras, and they describe a flow of energy from a space of individuality, to awareness of the greater collective. Here is a short list describing what this means:"

  • The first three signs (Aries, Taurus, and Gemini) represent awareness of self.
  • The second three signs (Cancer, Leo, and Virgo) represent the integration of self with environment.
  • The third three signs (Libra, Scorpio, and Sagittarius) represent the awareness of others.
  • The final three signs (Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces) represent the integration of self with the greater society at large.

In the next example we find gemstones connected to representations of chakra relations aligned with the zodiac sighs described in terms of nine influential planets:

And even though there may be readers who disagree with one or another label due to a presumed overlap of characteristics, we nonetheless witness a limitation, sometimes grouped into three themes thought to be more basic such as the Ego- Soul- Self. So for those who may not have even read the Prologue page, we can continue the discussion about the relevance of trying to identify the state and quality of a genuine female or feminine psyche that necessarily needs its own label without using the words or implied sounds attendant in a prefix, infix or suffix position such as fe-"male", wo-"man", hy-"men", "his"-terectomy, "his"-tory, etc... It should also be noted that some women (and men) think it is necessary for a person to incorporate several character traits that they may or may not refer to as archetypes, such that for example feels she needs to alternatively play the role of mother, sister, whore/prostitute, innocent, combatant, intellectual superior/inferior, dumb blonde, etc..., as a means of attending to the different roles a partner (male or female) may assume even without realizing they are a changeling type of mental and emotional creature adjusting to the vagaries of old age and incrementally deteriorating social circumstances with respect to their job, friends, family, political conditions, etc... In fact, many people play several different roles from time to time either without an appreciable insight into themselves or intentionally... though most people appear to learn how to sometimes discern a changeable profile... whether or not the word "archetype" is used formally or informally since it too is very often subjected to characterizations resembling a doll that is dressed and undressed with or without attendant accessories or embellishments according to the thoughts and emotions of the person holding onto a given perception thereof. Different people dress and undress the concepts of "archetype", "psyche" and "soul/self" in different ways, all the while imagining they have seen the fundamental... the basic... the underlying pristine nudity of what such terms actually reference.

Some archetypes (behavioral characteristics produced by an imposing patriarchy?) that are known but not necessarily incorporated into the typical repertoire of those engaging in an effort to entice women to embrace a given view so as to eventually sell them something:

  1. The virtuous suffering women

7 archetypes (with characteristics)

To the above lists lest us add some socio-economic "archetypes" as lower- middle- upper classes, though we might also include gypsy, vagabond, "Hoboess" (Hobo), Madam (Prostitution Mother), drugee (female forced or unforced into being a drug user), homeless, helpless, poor, rich, getting-by, playgirl, whore (female "player"), gambler, just above homelessness, dumb blonde, idiot savant, lost, whimsical, profound, trail blazer (entrepreneur), etc... It is necessary for us to review such roles and the various interpretations which are typically attached, in order to identify which archetype a given leader will promote as well as practice. For example, what so very commonly occurs after a woman gets into office, she plays the part of a furniture re-arranger or mother hen in terms of being an office manager. She is frequently confronted by a system supported by men who favor maintaining the status quo as "keepers of the flame" and not as a trail blazer. She is socially encouraged amongst her colleagues to be a collector of firewood, berries, roots, and small game, while leaving the large game... the assumed large tasks and large gains... to the men who persist in holding onto the image of an archetype that they are physically... and therefore also mentally and emotionally better suited to bring about directive monumental changes and societal directions. In other words, the present structure of the governing system has an incorporated attitude that serves to handicap women into adopting archetypal roles that are not overcome by simply altering one's sexual behavior like so many idiots in the LGBTQ pseudo-fertility cult. Nor is the system changed by a woman assuming a "butch" or male role such as wearing the typical "male uniform(s)" of clothing. Far too many men where institutionalized brands of archetypes as if they were emblazoned tattoos or cermonialized brand burnt into their flesh... that is... heart, mind and soul because they too think they have participated in a crusade which enabled them to see the fundamental nature of humanity within the culture of joint leadership they have embraced and smoked the relevant pipes of narcotic-laden economic spoils and self-assumed benefits they think they deserve and others defer to their assumptions even if it means hardship for the majority.

The idea that many women intellectually assess that this and that so-called Archetype can be viewed in a more fundamental way, attests to the fact that these presumed archetypes are not basic to the fundamental and central nature of/to the presumed female psyche... particularly in light of the fact that many, if not all of them can be assessed as having a male-counterpart. They are expressions which may be viewed in terms of different types of plumage. They are different colors and types of feathers, or scales, or fur, or... in short, a type of exoskeleton. Let us take (as an alternative example of perceived fundamentality) the concept of "old soul" that many readers are no doubt aware of. The problem is that when we apply this to the basic archetypes of Virgin - Mother - Crone as labels referring to a three-part division of age, we realize that the singular concept of "Old Soul" appears to be begging for two more designations such as "young soul" and "ancient soul". Yet, upon closer examination, these labels are revealed to be generalities which enable multiple perceptions under a given heading. In other words, they are not basic themes. While they do assist us in lumping together the perceptions of different people under separate conditions (environmental, social, familial) as well as moods, they are not basic just because some people think and claim them to be, and thus keep others from taking a closer look. The same goes for the above listed archetypes. While they are referenced as being "basic", they are in actuality different types of perfume, costume jewelry, customized embellishment and enculturated dispositions of certain behaviors. In short, they are not basic to the feminine nor female psyche. They perform the function of advertisement gimmicks in different venues for different age groups in different social settings. In many instances they are little more than means by which one or more people can be conned into buying some perception so as to predispose the person to follow a trail of philosophical bread crumbs amounting to a form of manipulation that can be detrimental to the psychically, emotionally, or financially.

Woman: Know Thy Self

Far too many involved with the topic of "archetype" are involved in financial, emotional and intellectual scams. A means of stopping them is to direct the attention of interested observers into viewing the topic of archetypes as a comic book version of personal analysis. In other words, it is time for them to intellectually grow up. Archetypes are not fundamental themes, they are little more than labels assigned to one's attempts to unravel basic themes by which to assist oneself or others into pursuing that which may be beneficial in arriving at a level of personal knowledge amounting to the old philosophical theme attributed to Socrates framed as "know thyself".

Is it possible for the woman to know herself and her "self" has to drag around the linguistic chains of words which define her presence in the world in relation to some male attribute such as wo-"man"? Or every time she goes out to eat she is forced to look at a "men"-u? No less, she is sometimes collectively defined as being part of the hu-"man" race or "man"-kind, without a "her"-story because even this designation has the word "he" in it. Is there no basic, no fundamental, no primary architectural blueprint to be assigned to the female (or "ms.") psyche because either the woman is part man, or the man is part woman, or that each of them is but an embellishment, a plumage, an exoskeleton of that which awaiting to emerge... to be born in social, spiritual or evolutionary terms? Where then to we look for a truer archetype behind the curtain of all the mix and match ensembles of ideas thought to be basic archetypes, but are in actuality the wardrobe designed by a primitive civilization still in vogue?

Let us take a look at a different type of "Archetype" (even though it is variously and vacuously defined as):

ar·che·type

  • a very typical example of a certain person or thing: "the book is a perfect archetype of the genre"
  • an original that has been imitated: "the archetype of faith is Abraham"
  • a recurrent symbol or motif in literature, art, or mythology: "mythological archetypes of good and evil"

synonyms: quintessence, essence, representative, model, embodiment, prototype, stereotype...

Just because we label something as basic or fundamental or pristine, etc., doesn't mean that something can or can not be found to underlie a given representation of these interpretations. Whereas we may be able to see basic behaviors and call them archetypes, this doesn't mean everyone can easily see such qualities. Their definitions may be more crude and simplistic (according to another reviewing their ideas), but nonetheless serve them within the constraints of their perceptual abilities. Like a primitive society living without the knowledge afforded by the information available in different subjects taught in Universities, there respective social world doesn't use nor need the labels that could be ascribed to their circumstances if a College trained intellectual spent time amongst them and redefined the primitive world within the relativity afforded them in conceptual descriptives associated with their vocabulary and knowledge of comparative compatibilities by recalling historical narratives from cultural anthropological discussions. Yet, even though the perceptual level of some is akin to a primitive perception of the world, there are worlds of different perception that can make use of a more definitive form of archetypal assessment regarding the female psyche. Take for example the notion that the human brain can be divided into three sections as described by Paul D. MacLean in his Brain Evolution, the triune Brain Theory.

The Triune Brain Theory of Paul D. MacLean Triune Brain Theory image 2
Brain Subdivisions

Brain Divisions

Here are some other references to the brain containing three divisions:

  • 3 main structural divisions: cerebrum, the brainstem, and the cerebellum.
  • Three main parts: the forebrain, midbrain, and hindbrain.
  • 3 evolutionary structures: Proto-reptilian brain - Paleomammalian brain (limbic system) - Neomammalian brain (neocortex).
  • Three major divisions of the brain are Cerebrum, Cerebellum and Medulla Oblongata (brain stem).
  • The brain is made of three main parts: the forebrain, midbrain, and hindbrain. The forebrain consists of the cerebrum, thalamus, and hypothalamus (part of the limbic system). The midbrain consists of the tectum and tegmentum. The hindbrain is made of the cerebellum, pons and medulla. Often the midbrain, pons, and medulla are referred to together as the brainstem.

Here is a "four" or 3-to-1 division perspective of the brain:

3 to 1 bain sections
Frontal, Parietal, Temporal and Occipital Lobes
3 (front to rear) to 1 (along the side) divisions of the brain:
  • 1 of 3: Frontal lobe (important for decision making and planning)
  • 2 of 3: Partial lobe (integrates sensory information)
  • 3 of 3: Occipital lobe (visual cortex)
  • 1 of 1: Temporal lobe (language comprehension, memory and emotion associations)

What are the 3 divisions of the brain?

Here's a reference which cites 6 Major Parts of the Brain and What They Do. The reason for including it is to show that different vantage points provide different perceptions related to one's interests. The point to take away from this small handful of examples is that a "three" pattern of referencing is dominant.

  1. Brain lobes
  2. Motor Cortex and Somatosensory Cortex
  3. Brain Stem
  4. The Limbic System
  5. Cerebrum
  6. Cerebellum

With respect to the role of the brain in relation to archetypes and unraveling more basic components of the psyche, another 3-part division of the brain needs to be catalogued in our series... namely, the right and left hemispheres including the corpus callousum. It will provide us with a means to venture into the topic of hemisphere attributes, even though the attributes are not closely linked with archetypal references nor as a means to dig deeper into our interest for unraveling that which keeps us from viewing the most basic structure of the female psyche and how this relates to a female leadership potential... whether one explicitly exists or not.

A literacy of the imaginations

It is at this point where we are going to re-examine the brain in terms of the attributes assigned to the different hemispheres, by looking at underlying patterns of those attributes and viewing them in terms of a basic symbol that is both aligned collectively to the human species but is experienced differently by individuals. This discussion about looking at the female psyche to unravel the potential for leadership, begins anew on the next page. This entails an awareness that the right hemisphere sits slightly in front of the left hemisphere as a tell-tale sign reminding us that the right hemisphere has shown itself to grow first.
